Pregnancy Testing
An unplanned pregnancy can be emotionally devastating. Caught up in the fear and pain a young woman might see abortion as the only choice. At Living Hope Women's Center we believe abortion is not a solution. Both the baby's and mother's life are precious to God. At this crucial time we provide factual information as well as emotional and material assistance. We also provide life choices and commit to helping the young woman through the difficult times she might face. As with all of our services pregnancy testing is free of charge.

Post Abortion and Life Trauma Counseling
Many young women in unplanned pregnancies have unresolved issues from their past that affect their ability to parent well. LHWC is staffed with trained client advocates and parenting instructors who provide one-one-one Biblical counseling. Through this program many cycles of neglect and abuse are stopped and young women can face the future free from the emotional encumbrances of their past. We also offer post abortion counseling for women who are suffering the emotional effects of a past abortion. All our counseling services are free.

Earn While You Learn (EWYL)
There are two overwhelming needs many young women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy face - how to provide clothes, furniture and diapers for their babies and how to be good parents. Our program meets both of these needs.

Young parents earn "Mommy Money" and "Daddy Dollars" by learning. Each week they meet with a client advocate to learn about prenatal care, parenting and life skills. The courses include watching videos with a worksheet they go over at the end of the video and homework to do later. They learn about the developing baby, nutrition, their changing body, bonding, proper care of a newborn, adoption, and so much more. For each visit the client receives $2 in Mommy Money or Daddy Dollars. Completed homework earns them another dollar. Our Mommy Store has a huge selection of new and gently used baby clothes, toys, furniture, maternity clothes and diapers. Young moms and dads love this program. They feel a sense of accomplishment and pride as they purchase items for their baby using the "money" they earned. Our Show Low Clinic averages 400 visits a month, 2/3 of them for Earn While You Learn.

Adoption
Adoption is a difficult decision to make. When a young woman is considering adoption she receives in-depth counseling to help be sure of her decision. She also receives post adoption counseling to help ease her through the emotional difficulties that may follow. We act as an advocate for the birth mother helping her each step of the way. We are not an adoption agency and receive no compensation for our services. Yet each time a young mother makes the heart-rending choice to give her child a better life through adoption we are rewarded with blessings beyond measure. Just knowing a childless couple will have a family and a child will have both a mommy and daddy to love him or her is a cause for rejoicing.

As of October 2005 we have helped 17 birth mothers through adoption!!! Many of these babies would have been aborted had the mothers not come to our ministry. Instead they are now with loving Christian families.
