“Double Blessing” Gift
Basket Project
Our Story
Like so many other times
in our ministry, we stumble along, trying to keep up with what God is
doing. Such is the case of our gift basket project. A few years ago, a drug and
craft store went out of business. They called us and asked if we could use bath
and body items, cosmetics, toiletries, gift items, ribbon, and many other odds
and ends. "Of course we can!" was our immediate response, not having a clue what
we would do with 500 tubes of lipstick and nail polish! As we sat there
surveying the room overflowing with these items, someone mentioned making gift
baskets. That started us on what is now a profitable and successful cottage
industry.
We call our baskets,
"Double Blessing" Gift Baskets because, not only do they bless the recipient,
they also bless the Hope House and its residents.
Our Donors
One of the reasons we can
make such beautiful baskets and sell them so reasonably is the many businesses
who donate their products to us. We would like to thank the following
businesses and individuals for their continued support:
Eddie’s Country Store of
Pinetop, AZ
donates their special preserves, muffin mixes, salsas, jarred goods, and other
fine grocery items for baskets that warm the heart and tummy.
Gold Canyon Candles
of Mesa, AZ
give us their wonderful candles to grace our baskets.
Jessica Ivanchov donates
Avon products that give our baskets an exclusive feel.
Many others have
brought in bath products and other items to be used and we are so grateful.
A special "Thank You" goes to The Helen S. Boylan Foundation for their generous
grant for this project which allows our Hope House residents to earn a
commission on each basket that will go into savings for when they depart Hope
House.
